Glass and glazing
Whatever the size and type of glass you need, we offer them all so you have a huge selection to choose from - along with access to installation from our experienced glaziers if required.
Does your broken glass need replacing?
Whatever type of glass you have, we can replace broken panes quickly and to a high standard. Our emergency glazing service is also available when you require an especially quick response.
Problems with your double glazed units (‘sealed units’)?
If one or more of your double glazed sealed units (the individual glass units found within double glazing installations) is broken or misted up between the panes, we can manufacture and fit a replacement unit so you won’t have the cost of replacing the whole window.
We know that the choice of glass can be confusing, so please contact us for advice on any of the following types we offer:
Standard ‘clear’ glass
For something simple and inexpensive, standard glass is the obvious choice.
Safety glass (compliant with BS 6206)
Safety glass compliant with BS 6206 is required by building regulations to be fitted in 'critical locations' at most risk from accidental human impact. They are also routinely chosen for wider use as an extra safety measure. Safety glass is categorised as Class A, B, or C, with A the highest grade of safety glass.
There are three main choices of safety glass:
Toughened glass (Class A) is ideal wherever you wish to ensure people’s safety as it helps minimise injuries by breaking into small pieces rather than dangerous shards. The glass gets its strength through the use of many different thermal or heating chemicals.
Laminated glass (available in Classes A, B or C) offers great protection from forced entry by bonding a tough interlayer in between two pieces of glass. Any shards of glass in an accident will remain attached to the plastic and so the risk of injury is reduced. The plastic interlayer is invisible, giving you a clear view of the outside world. It is especially suitable for shops and businesses but is increasingly being used in homes, usually targeted at areas most likely to suffer a breakage and where children are living.
Georgian wired glass (Class C) is embedded with a wire mesh which holds the glass together in an accident. This glass is also rated as a fire glass. Georgian wired polished plate glass is a clear glass, while Georgian wired cast glass is obscure.
Pilkington energiKare™ glass
This glass is good for reducing your home’s energy consumption and your energy bills because in the winter it retains more heat, reducing the amount of energy lost through the windows by 90%. It has the added advantage of reflecting heat to help keep you cooler in the summer.
Decorative glass
We offer a range of decorative options, including the use of coloured film to create a lovely stained glass effect and bevelled glass for added architectural impact. Safety glass options are also available.
Patterned/textured glass
With an embossed pattern such as flowers or leaves on the glass surface this can give you a wide range of attractive design options for your home. There are also five levels of obscuration available to provide extra privacy. Safety glass options are also available.

Conservatory glass
From replacing single panes or units to more significant projects, we can supply glass to bring your conservatory back to its original condition. Another way we can help you enjoy your conservatory or summer house is by fitting solar reflective film, which addresses the problem of excessive heat build up so you can enjoy your conservatory even on the hottest summer days.
Greenhouse glass
We carry a large stock of horticultural glass and can cut to size to replace broken panes to restore your greenhouse’s performance.
Glass roofs
We can replace broken glass roofs, usually recommending laminated glass for maximum safety and security.
